PODS Moving & Storage Inter-Island Services in the Islands
Tenant must provide PODS with the name(s) of the person, people, or business responsible for loading and/or unloading the PODS container(s) at the port at time of order so the shipper can be notified; only the name(s) given at time of order will be allowed access to the container(s) at the port facility.
Tenant will be notified by PODS when their container(s) has/have arrived at the port facility & must complete the loading or unloading of their container(s) within (2) business days of the container(s)’ availability; the next business day after the container(s)’ arrival is normally the 1st day of availability. Failure to complete the loading or unloading process in this required timeframe will result in daily fines of not less than $50.00 per day per container.
Valid state-issued photo ID will be required for all adults 18 years of age or older to gain access to port facility to load and/or unload container(s).
All vehicles used to gain access to the port facility will need to be accompanied by current proof of registration, safety inspection & insurance to be allowed access
All port facilities are subject to US Homeland Security as well as US Coast Guard rules & regulations; security levels & associated screening processes at all port facilities are subject to change at any time; Tenants are required to adhere to MARSEC security processes at all times while at the port facility.
Upon arrival at the port facility & clearing of security, Tenant is to proceed to the Tenant Service office to check in with Outport clerk.
Outport clerk will produce a Certificate of Delivery of Cargo (CDC) with PODS container ID number(s) & shipper platform number(s) for Tenant, then direct Tenant to visit the Freight Clerk station where CDC is presented to the Freight Clerk.
The Freight Clerk will identify the PODS container ID number(s) & shipper platform number(s) on the CDC, have Tenant sign for receipt, issue Tenant their copy of the CDC, then escort Tenant to their PODS container(s) in the yard for loading or unloading.
If a Tenant needs to load or unload their container(s) in multiple trips, Tenant must present their copy of the CDC to security & repeat the security screening process each time they return to the port facility; failure to bring their copy of the CDC will result in refusal of entry.
Access for loading & unloading of containers will only be allowed during normal operating hours for the particular port facility where the container(s) is/are located; normal hours of operation for the selected port facility or facilities will be given to Tenant at time of booking.
While at the port facility, Tenant must remain within the immediate vicinity of their PODS container(s) & be actively loading or unloading at all times.
Upon completion of loading or unloading of PODS container(s), Tenant will report back to the Freight Clerk that loading or unloading has been completed.
All loaded containers must be latched & secured with Tenant-provided lock prior to Tenant’s departure from the port facility.
All unloaded containers must be completely cleaned & swept out prior to Tenant’s departure from the port facility in abidance of State of Hawai’i Harbor Division regulation which states that all packaging materials will be removed from pier upon receipt of cargo; failure to comply will result in Tenant being charged a fine of not less than $75.00 per container.
GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR PODS INTER-ISLAND MOVES:
All Tenants must insure their contents for a minimum coverage level of $10,000. As provided in Section 6, Tenant may obtain Content Protection (coverage through PODS for an additional monthly fee to satisfy the insurance requirement. If Tenant does not desire to secure Content Protection coverage through PODS, proof of insurance for at least the $10,000 minimum coverage amount must be received in writing by PODS prior to the delivery of any container(s) to the origination port facility.
Tenant must have a valid credit card on file which is set up on “auto-pay.”
Payment to PODS in full of all shipping fees must be received prior to the delivery of any container(s) to the origination port facility.
No container(s) will be delivered to the origination port facility if a balance is owed on Tenant’s account.
